Abe Bayer, PhD
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Abe is an MD-PhD candidate finishing his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. He received his PhD in immunology at Tufts in the lab of Pilar Alcaide where he studied how anthracyclines induce cardiotoxicity through T-cell mediated cardiac inflammation. He also studied T-cell function more broadly in the setting of heart failure and cancers. His long term goals include pursuing cardiology training alongside basic and translational science in cardio-oncology and cardio-immunology. He also enjoys traveling, long distance running, trying new breweries, and taking photos of his cat.
