Cris Jacoba, MD, a clinical research fellow at Beetham Eye Institute at Joslin Diabetes Center, placed second in the Rabb-Venable Excellence in Ophthalmology Program in the Resident/Fellow category for his paper "Automated machine learning models for diabetic retinopathy screening using handheld fundus cameras in a low-resource community screening program." Dr. Jacoba's research was one of 70 abstracts presented at the National Medical Association annual assembly in June.
