Rising Mentor Award

Dr. Friedman received the Ally for Women Faculty Award for his work to support and empower women colleagues in advancing their career and achieving their professional goals. One of his nominators shared that:

David has led by example to achieve work-life balance and is particularly focused on the family responsibilities of women faculty, encouraging women to bring children to social gatherings and stepping in to see patients in clinic for women faculty members when they were out. He routinely arranges meetings with women faculty to specifically, and oneonone, discuss their work and home life balance.

Dr. Miller was recognized with the Rising Mentor Award for his contributions to the success of junior faculty members and trainees. One of his nominators shared that:

John is consistently available as a mentor, replying promptly to emails, revising my manuscripts, and providing constructive feedback even after putting his three kids to bed on weekday evenings. He strikes the ideal balance of providing guidance at critical junctures while allowing me to take the lead in driving our projects forward.

Drs. Friedman and Miller were formally recognized at the MGH Celebration of Mentoring Meeting in January.
