Maan Alkharashi, MD, received funds in the in the amount of $1750 per patient over one year for his involvement in the clinical study with the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, "Binocular Dig Rush Game Treatment for Amblyopia” funded by the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
Jing Chen, PhD, received an R01 grant from the National Eye Institute in the amount of $2,212,500 over five years for her project, "Wnt signaling-mediated control of blood retinal barrier." She also received the Research to Prevent Blindness Dolly Green Special Scholar Award through Mass. Eye and Ear in the amount of $25,000 over two years for her project, "Role of Rev-erb-alpha in retinal and RPE degeneration."
The Boston Foundation has awarded Mass. Eye and Ear a $354,300 grant to support the retina research of Patricia D'Amore, PhD, MBA, specifically to develop a novel small molecule for the prevention and treatment of dry age-related macular degeneration. This grant comes from the income of their May J. Wikstrom Fund.
Anne Fulton, MD, received a Children's Hospital Ophthalmology Foundation Discovery Grant in the amount of $25,000 over one year for her project, "The leading disease front and preferred retinal locus in Stargardt Disease (STGD1)."
