Bioethics Public Forum: Addressing LGBTQI Concerns in Health Care

In conjunction with Boston Pride week, the HMS Center for Bioethics is hosting public forum exploring the health care concerns and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people-whether they are care providers or patients.

Panelists will address basic standards of care including respect, privacy, visibility, and communications (use of appropriate terms and pronouns). LGBTQI-specific health care concerns including care access, medications, and treatment.

The goal of this panel is to increase visibility of LGBTQI individuals in health care settings, and to address the need for accurate information and informed discussion about the health care concerns that may specifically impact this diverse population.
