The midterm elections are coming soon, which means that every member of the House of Representatives, a third of the Senate, and 36 governors are up for re-election, not to mention a host of local ballot issues in Mass and other states.
Are you prepared to have your voice heard?
As future physicians, voting is not just a way to weigh in on elections - it's an extension of our obligation to our patients, given how deeply politics and policy affect our ability to care for them.
The Harvard Votes Challenge is a non-partisan, university-wide effort that is challenging each of Harvard’s thirteen degree-granting schools to increase voter registration and participation among eligible students on their respective campuses.
For HMS, Citizen Physicians will be holding Harvard Votes tables, where we can help you register to vote, change your residence, apply for an absentee ballot (necessary if you'll be in a different state than the one you want to vote in or won't be able to make it to your polling center on Election Day), and answer any questions you might have about the process of voting. We have stamps, envelopes, and printing capacity- all you need to do is show up!
Come see us on Thursday 10/4 at 12:30-2pm in Courtyard Cafe (Armenise)!
If you can't attend any of these events, you can still register, update your address, or request an absentee ballot with our HMS TurboVote service - it's quick and easy, just click the link and hit Get Started. Be sure to take care of it before the October deadlines for registration and absentee requests, which vary by state. Feel free to email suhas_gondi@hms.harvard.edu with any questions.
Best wishes,
