By giving voice to LGBTQ families, we identify challenges faced by families and offer insights to provide a more culturally appropriate experience. With the understanding that there are many types of family compositions, the focus of this work was families that include same-sex parents, one or more transgender parent, a parent who is gender nonconforming/nonbinary/genderqueer, and polyamorous parents.
