Audra Robertson Meadows, MD, MPH, FACOG cares for women before, during and after pregnancy to ensure positive pregnancy and birth experiences. As an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Meadows teaches medical students, residents and fellows and devotes time to prenatal care practice innovation and advocacy. Her clinical, public health and policy initiatives aim to prevent preterm birth and infant mortality, achieve health equity and create value. At BWH, she is Medical Director of the Ambulatory Obstetrics Practice and leads the group prenatal care practice. In Massachusetts, Dr. Meadows holds a leadership role with PNQIN (the Perinatal Neonatal Quality Improvement Network of Massachusetts).
Carlos Torres, MD is a pediatrician at MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center and Associate Director of Diversity & Equity at MassGeneral Hospital for Children where he closely works with medical students and residents. He was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He moved with his family to Milwaukee, Wisconsin during his teenage years, afterwards attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School, then attended pediatric residency at MassGeneral Hospital for Children and served as a chief resident. His clinical and research interests include immigrant health, disparity research, LGBT health, and resiliency. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his partner and dog, catching up with his nine siblings and many nephews back home, traveling, and gardening. He is looking forward to returning to the Longwood area regularly (and re-visiting the surrounding delicious Mexican restaurants that helped him cope with his longing of home).
Camila M. Mateo MD, MPH is a primary care pediatrician at Boston Children’s Hospital and Martha Eliot Health Center who focuses her work on the care of underserved children. She is from South Florida and attended the University of Florida before completing her MD at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her pediatric residency and a chief resident year at the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center where she was a part of the Urban Health and Advocacy Track. Following this she completed the Harvard-wide Pediatric Health Services Fellowship and obtained an MPH at the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health. Her research time focuses on the impacts of discrimination and bias on patient care and diversity in the physician workforce. Her medical education work focuses on diversity and inclusion, health equity, and racism in medicine. She is currently the Diversity Officer for the Boston Combined Residency Program as well as the co-director for Social Medicine in Essentials II at HMS and looks forward to helping to support and mentor medical students at Harvard in this new role.
