LGBTQ Health Disparities Grants to Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows – Apply Now!

The purpose of the MMS LGBTQ Research Grant program is to encourage and incorporate cultural competency training early in medical education to make strides towards improving health care quality, access and equity for LGBTQ patients in the Commonwealth.

To that end, the Massachusetts Medical Society seeks to:
  • Fund projects in curriculum development or production of research that address lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer as well as intersex and differences in sex development (DSD) health disparities.
  • Fund projects that demonstrate thoughtful review of existing conditions/environment and define opportunities for diminishing health disparities experienced by LGBTQ patients.
Application Deadline
Grant applications are due by 4:00 pm on October 4, 2018 to the MMS Committee on LGBTQ Matters (submit via email to etally@mms.org). Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The MMS Committee on LGBTQ Matters and MMS Committee on Medical Education will consult with the MMS Office of the General Counsel in reviewing applications.
