He estimates that he has performed more than 9,000 operations and mentored more than 150 residents and fellows. In fact, 25 of his former trainees are now chairs at academic institutions across the globe.

Dr. Myers has published more than 300 papers and many books, including Cancer of the Head and Neck, which is now in its 5th edition and considered the standard text on this topic, and Operative Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, now in its 3rd edition. He has served on many international editorial boards and as president of many organizations.

He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. After completing an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital, he pursued residency training in otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School. He then completed his fellowship in head and neck surgery with Dr. Dr. John Conley at Saint Vincent’s Hospital.
