Designed for neurotology fellows, pediatric otolaryngology fellows, and senior residents who will become the next generation of cochlear implant surgeons, this all-expenses-paid, one-day course will provide hands-on dissection for cochlear implantation (CI) in the state-of-the-art, Joseph B. Nadol, Jr., MD, Surgical Training Laboratory at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. Participants will receive instruction and perform dissections under the guidance of Mass. Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School faculty and guest faculty, with a high instructor to participant ratio for personalized teaching. The day will also feature brief didactic lectures and panel discussions focused on surgical techniques in CI, CI outcomes, and CI candidate selection. Finally, we will have next generation 3-D exoscope technology available for practice dissection and CI electrode placement without the need for a microscope.
