Alisa Yamasaki, MD

Chief Resident, Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery

Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Dr. Alisa Yamasaki has clinical interests that are broad and include fields within both general and subspecialty otolaryngology.

Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Yamasaki, a Dartmouth College and Harvard Medical School graduate, worked as a healthcare consultant in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries, which has helped shape her research as a student and trainee.

She recently implemented an international research collaboration between academic hospitals in Tokyo, Japan, and Boston to analyze the discharge care coordination process for high-risk geriatric patient populations. Other research interests include innovative models in surgical healthcare delivery, international comparative healthcare, and surgical quality improvement.

Dr. Yamasaki also has a background in classical piano performance and has been involved in music and medicine research to explore the clinical applications of music in perioperative settings.
