PGY-3 Resident, Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery
Originally from the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, Dr. Isaac Wasserman graduated cum laude from Yale University with a degree in Russian and east European studies. There, he worked as a paramedic in the neighboring Bridgeport and New Haven communities. Subsequently, he completed a Masters of Public Health from the Yale School of Public Health with a focus in health policy and global health, during which he performed field work in Russia prior to matriculating at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
While earning his medical doctorate, Dr. Wasserman was a research fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and was a Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellow at Harvard University’s Program in Global Surgery and Social Change. As a Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellow, he traveled to India where he worked with local communities on programs that sought to improve surgical capacity in rural settings.
