PGY-2 Resident, Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery
Dr. Kathryn Marcus grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami with majors in marine science and biology. She matriculated at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where she received a distinction for her work in global health and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and the Carver Humanism Honor Society.
Between her second and third years of medical school, she completed a year-long pathology externship, which sparked her interest in the pathology of head and neck malignancies. She also developed interests in medical education and sustainably expanding access to specialized care, both locally and abroad.
Her research interests include pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck pathology, global health innovation and medical education.
