Dr. Philip Avigan

Dr. Philip Avigan is a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders. He currently holds the position of a Movement Disorders Fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and is also a clinical fellow in Neurology at Harvard Catalyst, a role he commenced in mid-2024. Dr. Avigan earned his MD and PhD from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he subsequently completed his neurology residency. His primary professional focus and research interests include the study and presentation of novel pathogenic mutations associated with conditions such as spinocerebellar ataxia type 14.
