About Our Research
Research Fields
The Tenen Lab has pursued a broad scope of research over the course of it's history, a product of a diverse range of scientists encouraged to pursue and support their own projects. However our primary focus has always been centered on transcription factors and gene regulation in regards to cell differentiation both in healthy and cancer cells. A particular focus of ours is differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells into different specific lineages, especially on myeloid (granulocyte and monocyte) differentiation in normal and leukemic cells.
Current projects outside of the scope of this include examining the role of on the role of long noncoding RNAs in gene regulation, chromatin structure, and DNA methylation.
