Lily is interested in the mechanisms of inflammation and inflammation resolution in its relationship to pre-cancer and tumor dormancy escape, as well as chemical carcinogenesis.She graduated with her B.S. in Biology from Boston College and started working in the Panigrahy lab in September 2025.

Lily assists with murine cancer model experiments by culturing various primary and cancer cell lines, coordinating with the animal facilities, and preparing drugs for injection. Her bench work includes running ELISAs, cytokine arrays and various cell culture assays. She works on projects studying how inflammation impacts various diseases such as her collaboration with Dr. Steve Freedman, assisting in running gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis, and pediatric glioblastoma, as she leads the murine orthotopic glioblastoma injections.  She also manages the onboarding process for new lab members, lab purchases and coordinating lab trips to conferences and meetings across the world. She is a mentor to student research interns and is active in teaching them lab skills and analyses.

She is currently working on a review on the topic of pre-cancer and dormant tumor escape, to be submitted for review within the next year! She plans to pursue a career in industry, to link her passion for biology with business, and contribute to the transition of scientific discovery to bringing new therapeutics to market. 

In her free time, Lily enjoys baking, yoga, and traveling with her friends and family!
