Katherine joined the lab in the spring of 2023 after graduating from Boston College with a B.S. in biology. Katherine is interested in how the body coordinates cellular responses during inflammation and its resolution, and how these processes can be measured and understood across in vivo and in vitro modes.

In her time at the lab she has worked on multidisciplinary projects, all at the intersection of the resolution of chronic inflammation in disease. Katherine has worked in collaboration with various pharmaceutical companies, conducting preclinical studies for novel small molecule drugs. She has also worked on projects focused on the resolution of inflammation in cancer cachexia, chemical induced carcinogenesis, pediatric glioblastoma, and cystic fibrosis. She has worked with various murine cancer models, including takedown and subsequent cellular assays. Her bench work mainly consists of flow cytometry, cytokine arrays, and ELISAs, and is very experienced in culturing primary and cancer cell lines. She has also trained 10+ student research interns in the lab, from high school to graduate students. 

Outside of the lab, Katherine is currently pursuing a M.S. in biotechnology at Northeastern where she is continuing to build a strong foundation in biology and learning new lab assays.

In her free time, Katherine enjoys reading, yoga, and exploring Boston!
