Research areas
Supportive Birth Collaborative
This work brings together a diverse group of people to identify, implement and test interventions currently focused on improving hospital-doula collaboration. We are testing ways to effectively scale the model while expanding to additional hospitals in Massachusetts.
Doula Link for Perinatal Mental Health
Co-developed by doulas, mental health professionals, individuals who had experienced a perinatal mental health disorder, and researchers, the Doula Link intervention was developed to support doulas as they provide emotional support and resources to their clients. We are currently completing our Beta test and will launch our pilot feasibility trial in the fall of 2025.
Support after loss
Perinatal loss, whether it be miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death, is common and yet under-supported by our health systems. We are collaborating with community leaders, mental health professionals, and parents who have experienced loss to test interventions that can change the way we support families.
