IGBR had a fantastic experience attending the 2025 annual Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in San Diego, CA! Our team was excited to present the latest research on neurogastrointestinal disorders and contribute to important conversations surrounding clinical care. See below for a few highlights from the week:
- Trisha Pasricha, MD, MPH, presented our group's work in a featured oral presentation on the impact of smartphone use on the development of hemorrhoids
- Jocelyn Chang, BS, presented her work in a featured oral presentation on how altered dopamine-receptor expression and parietal cell hyperplasia are associated with gastric neuromuscular dysfunction. She also presented her and Philippa Seika's, MD, work in a poster presentation on the effect of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists on the risk of developing peptic ulcer disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
- Colin Wu, BS, presented his work in an oral presentation on the interpretation of anorectal manometry and disparities in pelvic floor biofeedback attendance in transgender patients
