We had a wonderful time attending Digestive Diseases Week in Washington, D.C. May 2024. Our members presented the cutting-edge research we've been working on during the year and updated the GI community on clinical management of patients with neurogastrointestinal disorders. We also had a lot of fun hanging out in the city together! Some of our group's highlights:
- Jocelyn Chang, BS, presented her work in a featured poster presentation on the risk of developing Parkinson's disease after a history of gastrointestinal mucosal damage.
- Colin Wu, BS, presented his work in an oral presentation on sucrose malabsorption and breath testing
- Sarah Ballou, PhD, gave a presentation on practical management of bloating, one of the most vexing complaints in gastroenterology
- Subhash Kulkarni, PhD, discussed his findings on the molecular markers associated with self-reported progressive gut dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease patients
- Trisha Pasricha, MD, MPH, gave an oral presentation on the intricate link between Parkinson's Disease and the gastrointestinal tract
