Matthew is a now a junior biochemistry major at Northeastern. He joined the laboratory in January 2025 as a sophomore Co-Op student where he helped develop an alternative to agar dilution technology for reference antimicrobial susceptibility testing and to investigate the MexY efflux pump protein from Pseudomonas aeruginosa using molecular biology, structural biology and biochemistry techniques. In his free time, he enjoys playing the violin in the NEU Symphony Orchestra, playing piano, and learning how to knit!
