Summer 2025 Students Finish Rotation

Lab picture

This summer the lab hosted 4 students, 2 of whom are leaving us today at the end of their rotation after lots of hard work and learning. Masiel and Kristina are part of the NIH-T34 Bridges to Baccalaureate Program. They contributed to data quantification on our existing lab project and conducted their own mini-project in their 2 months in the lab. They learned cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, RNAscope, and RNA extraction. They did data quantification and analysis, culminating in a final presentation given at their last lab meeting. They will present their work on their project, their lab contributions, and scientific writing exercise at the Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologists (MACUB) Conference in November, 2025.

Best of luck, Masiel and Kristina, in your future scientific endeavors! It was a pleasure having you in the lab, thank you for all of your hard work!
