Advanced Training in Pathology

The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) provides comprehensive educational programs for medical students, residents and fellows interested in the science of disease diagnosis, translational research and academic pathology. As a key teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, BIDMC offers a stimulating and supportive environment that promotes clinical accuracy, scientific discovery and excellence in laboratory medicine.

Trainees work closely with expert faculty across a wide range of subspecialties, including anatomic and clinical pathology, hematopathology, molecular diagnostics, transfusion medicine and cytopathology. With access to advanced laboratory technologies, diverse case material and rich academic resources, graduates are well-equipped to lead in clinical practice, biomedical research and academic settings.
