BIDMC has been recognized as a Top 50 hospital in the nation for neurosurgery by U.S. News & World Report

BOSTON – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) has been named by U.S. News & World Report a 2025-2026 Best Hospital. BIDMC was ranked among the top 50 hospitals nationwide in nine adult specialties and was ranked in the top 25 hospitals in five of those specialties. The hospital also received 19 high performing ratings in the group’s annual best hospital report.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation.

BIDMC was named as the #3 best hospital in the Boston region and #3 best hospital in Massachusetts.

BIDMC was nationally ranked in nine adult specialties including OBGYN, gastroenterology & GI surgery, diabetes & endocrinology, cancer care, pulmonology & lung surgery, geriatrics, heart & vascular, neurology & neurosurgery and ear, nose & throat.

BIDMC also received 19 high performing ratings across 2 specialties and 17 procedures and conditions including urology, lung cancer surgery, gynecological cancer surgery, kidney failure and heart bypass surgery.

To determine the Best HospitalsU.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
