Neirja Mehta, BS

Neirja Mehta recently graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience. Curious about understanding the clinical aspects of women’s health, Neirja is currently working as a Medical Secretary/Assistant at an Outpatient OB/GYN Medical Clinic in New York City. Growing up Indian-American in Los Angeles, she has always been passionate about recognizing the diverse and multi-cultural perspectives that shape patients’ experiences when navigating the healthcare system and their overall well-beings. Through participation in the MeRGE Lab, she is excited to learn more about the role of religion and culture, specifically among women of Muslim backgrounds, in the greater conversations about maternal and reproductive health outcomes.
