Transgenic Core at BIDMC, produce genetically altered mice, cryopreserves embryos and sperm, and will reconstitute mouse lines from other institutions via IVF from frozen sperm or thawing and transferring frozen embryos.

The Sadhguru Center for a Conscious Planet, founded in 2020 and directed by Dr. Balachundhar Subramaniam, is a multidisciplinary research center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, that integrates science with yoga and meditation practices to develop interventions that promote overall health and well-being. The center conducts research, facilitates thoughtful dialogue and exploration, and builds awareness through education and community outreach. Its work seeks to expand our understanding and experience of human consciousness, cognition, and compassion. A central mission of the center is to enhance the holistic health of communities while advancing scientific frontiers through rigorous research in contemplative sciences. The center also strives to build collaborative partnerships and offer practical tools for daily well-being.

MeRGE Research Lab employs a strengths-based approach to the study of reproductive health at the intersection of religion, culture, and socio-political context with a focus on Muslim reproductive health (both in Muslim-majority and diaspora contexts), global health in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and immigrant/refugee health.
