Aubrey Morrow is a junior Biology major on the pre-medical track at Hampton University. She joined the Balk Lab in June 2025 through the Dana-Farber CURE Summer Research Internship Program, where she gained immersive experience in a wet lab environment. During her time in the lab, Aubrey contributed to cutting-edge advanced prostate cancer research, focusing on developing new targeted therapies and improving patient survival rates.
She developed a range of technical skills, including Western blotting, BCA protein assay protocols, and cell culturing and harvesting techniques. Aubrey strengthened her scientific communication skills by participating in weekly research seminars, journal clubs, career development workshops, and networking events. Her internship culminated in the preparation and delivery of a research abstract and poster presentation. Aubrey’s research interests lie in addressing health disparities, with particular focus on oncology, women’s health, and pediatrics.
