Dr. Larysa Poluben

Dr. Larysa Poluben is a cancer biologist and Instructor in Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical School. She holds both an MD from Bogomolets National Medical University and a PhD in Hematology, Oncology, and Genetics from the National Research Center for Radiation Medicine. Professionally, she is a key member of the Balk Lab within the Division of Hematology/Oncology, where her research focuses on identifying and understanding the mechanisms of resistance to novel antiandrogen therapies in patients with prostate cancer. Dr. Poluben is passionate about integrating bioinformatics tools and machine learning models to accelerate scientific discovery in the life sciences. Her broader scientific background includes expertise in radiobiology and medical genetics, specifically studying molecular genetic abnormalities in patients affected by ionizing radiation.
