Dr. Anastasia Katsiampoura, along with her mentor Dr. Shahzad Shaefi, has been awarded the Joyce Wahr Starter Grant from the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA) this month. Their project, "Elucidating Anti-inflammatory Roles of CD39 and T Regulatory Cells with Cardiopulmonary Bypass," aims to advance our understanding of immune modulation during cardiac surgery.
