Daniel S. Talmor, MD, MPH, has served as Chair of the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 2014. An internationally recognized leader in critical care and respiratory medicine, his work focuses on improving outcomes for patients with severe lung injury and those requiring mechanical ventilation. Dr. Talmor received his MD from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel and an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. After completing residency training in Israel, he pursued fellowships in critical care medicine and cardiac anesthesia at BIDMC. Since joining the faculty in 1999, he has authored hundreds of scientific publications and is a highly sought after speaker across the world. His research has been funded by The National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, CMMS and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
