About Us

The BioDataBank Core at BIDMC aims to collect patient biospecimens, metadata, and omics / histological data for biomedical research directed towards advancing precision medicine. Our goal is to make patient samples more readily available at BIDMC and to facilitate collaborations between researchers. We are approaching this by acting as 1. a physical biorepository to facilitate the deep phenotyping of human specimens that are linked to clinical diagnoses, 2. a digital databank of cutting-edge omics and histological profiling and 3. a virtual catalogue interface that will facilitate collaborations with industry and other academic centers. With various services available like sample storage and inventory management, brightfield and fluorescent slide scanning capabilities, and AI-powered image analysis and omics analysis software licenses, we are happy to help facilitate your research however you need.
