Shan graduated from the University of Rochester in 2021 with a bachelor of science in microbiology and a minor in American Sign Language. They are currently enrolled in the dual doctor of optometry and master of science program with an interest in neuro-optometry, particularly the effects of developmental and learning disorders on visual functioning.
