Professional Biography

Dr. Vasunilashorn is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). She joined the faculty in 2016 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at BIDMC/HMS. Her primary area of research focuses on the role of inflammation in late life cognitive and functional outcomes. In particular, she is interested in understanding the pathophysiology of delirium (an acute confusional state) and identifying the long-term cognitive and functional outcomes associated with postoperative delirium. She is currently funded by the Charles King Trust fellowship from The Medical Foundation.
