Professional Biography
Stephen Juraschek is a physician investigator at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. He has published over 220 papers (over half first- or senior-authored) from over 15 distinct cohorts. In addition, he participated in the primary publication of 7 distinct clinical trials focused on nutrition and lifestyle interventions to improve clinical outcomes. He is currently the principal investigator on three NIH grants and is an internationally recognized expert in blood pressure. Dr. Juraschek is also leading a grocery intervention trial as part of the American Heart Association’s Health Equity Network to Prevent Hypertension and is a member of the American Heart Association’s Nutrition Committee. Dr. Juraschek is passionate about the role of healthy diet and sodium reduction to lower blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular disease, which represents a major focus of his current work.
