Neurology, Movement Disorders and Aging
I am a neurologist with a focus on motor and cognitive aspects of brain aging and potential therapeutic interventions. My clinical research also explores outcomes following therapeutic interventions for specific movement disorders, like Parkinson's disease (PD) and related disorders, like essential tremor (ET) and other movement disorders of aging. I lead a multidisciplinary research team dedicated to improving how we measure and enhance function and quality of life for people with movement disorders. Our work bridges patient care, clinical trials, and operational innovation to translate research into real-world impact. What matters most to me is building collaborative teams and mentoring the next generation of clinician-investigators in neurology.
Areas of Research
- Clinical epidemiology of essential tremor (ET), PD, parkinsonism, and associated cognitive impairment
- Long-term motor and cognitive trajectories of with ET, PD, and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB).
- Digital technologies to aid clinical outcome assessment and real-world clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) and related disorders
- Novel mechanisms, therapeutic interventions, and clinical trials for Parkinson's disease and essential tremor
- Clinical research innovation in academic-industry and public-private partnerships
