About

Mingyu Zhang, PhD, MHS, FAHA, is an epidemiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, based in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His research examines how environmental and nutritional factors influence cardiometabolic health across the life course, including blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and related outcomes in pregnant individuals and their children.

Dr. Zhang leads and collaborates on prospective cohort studies and randomized trials. His work integrates epidemiologic methods, longitudinal data, metabolomics, and mixture analyses to identify modifiable risks and inform prevention.

He is also affiliated with the Harvard Chan–NIEHS Center for Environmental Health and the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment (C-CHANGE).

Editorial service

Dr. Zhang serves as an Associate Editor for Trials and a Senior Editorial Consultant for the American Journal of Hypertension.

Honors and awards

Dr. Zhang is an elected Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA) and a member of the Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society.
