Meet Nikolaos Kalavros, the Spatial-Omics Computational Biologist in the Spatial Technologies Unit within Precision RNA Medicine (PRM) Core. Nikolas completed his primary education in Greece, earning a B.Sc. in Biology from the Biology Department at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He received training in experimental procedures with a focus on microRNAs in cancer.

He then enrolled in the Data Science and Information Technologies M.Sc. program in the Department of Informatics at NKUA. In 2021, he joined the Precision RNA Medicine Core as a research student in Dr. Ioannis' Vlachos lab for his M.Sc. thesis.

Upon arriving in the US in late 2021, Nikolas became a part of the recently founded Spatial Technologies Unit. Since then, he has been actively involved in handling all data ingress, egress, and analysis, specializing in single-cell and spatial data.
