Our Global Health & DEI Programs

Since its earliest days, the Department of Radiology has been a global melting pot of colleagues who advocate for tolerance, understanding, and respect. All are welcome here.

BIDMC Radiology Global Health Programs

Our most recent faculty arrivals hail from France, Lebanon, South Africa, Israel, Belgium, Turkey, and Nepal! We are equally proud of our many international alumni and trainees who are part of our imaging community and contribute to our academic mission. Inspired by this breadth of geographic and cultural representation, we strive to give back to global communities by disseminating our educational resources and developing self-sustaining training programs for patients and providers around the world. BIDMC Radiology WE-RADS Organization

We have proudly relaunched She-Rads at BIDMC Radiology, which we have renamed Women Empowerment in Radiology (WE-RADS). The mission of this resident-driven, faculty-mentored wellness organization is to support women trainees in radiology through mentorship, networking, and leadership activities, and in partnership with our departmental colleagues and the BIDMC community. Inclusivity is at the core of WE-RADS, and individuals of all genders are welcome to join us and help advance our mission. Learn more about WE-RADS here.

BIDMC Radiology DEI Committee

At the core of our mission, "Together Taking Care of People," is our longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). We treat each person who walks through our doors with kindness, regardless of religion, race, country of origin, immigration status, disability or handicap, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, military service, or economic status. Our department has its own DEI committee, comprising faculty and trainees, which meets regularly to advance critical efforts in this space. Learn about our DEI work here.
