The Health Care Policy team had an incredible presence at the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions 2025, with 11 presentations by trainees on topics ranging from private equity acquisitions of hospitals to the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Michael Liu, MPhil presented his work on rural-urban disparities in health care access, lifestyle, and social
determinants for cardiovascular health in the US in the Young Investigator Awards Competition for Outcomes Research. Daniel Johnson, BA, 2024-2025 Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Fellow, presented his work on prescription drug savings for privately insured adults with cardiovascular disease if the Inflation Reduction Act's out-of-pocket spending cap expanded to include this population, sharing findings an expansion of the out-of-pocket spending cap would result in total savings of $675 million per year for privately insured working-age adults with cardiovascular risk factors.
