Dr. Jinhwan Choi

Jinhwan Choi is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), affiliated with Harvard Medical School. His research background covers sleep physiology and genetics. His current work aims to understand the neural circuitry of sleep and wakefulness, particularly under the pathophysiological condition of Narcolepsy. Using fiber-photometry and GPCR-based (GRAB) sensors, he investigates altered monoamine signaling, how narcoleptic drugs modulate these pathways, and assesses the duration and magnitude of their effects particularly through receptor activation.
