The goal of the Hide laboratory is to impact human health through understanding and translation of the underlying mechanisms of diseases. With the aim of providing effective therapies, our group works on discovery of genes, pathways and processes that drive disease development.
We work assuming interrogating biological function is the most effective way to reveal potential disease mechanisms and so provide targets for interventions. Using formalization of in silico systems approaches to enhance understanding of the complex interplay of genetic variation, pathways and functional processes, the lab's work maps interplay between dysregulation of canonical biological pathways, disease and resilience-to-disease signatures. Importantly, this leads to definition of precise drug combinations against target pathways that can result in resistance against a disease.
