Isabel Castanho
Instructor
Isabel Castanho, PhD, is an Instructor at BIDMC and Harvard Medical School. Her work centers on using single-cell and spatial genomics approaches to uncover protective mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease, such as cognitive resilience. She completed her PhD at the University of Exeter in 2019 and joined the Hide Lab in 2021. Dr Castanho is funded through an Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowship and has received multiple recognitions, including the AD/PD Junior Faculty Award and the Alzheimer’s Association Mentoring Award. She's also an active advocate for women in science.
