Goal: BioDataBank Pilot Grants are being provided by the Office of the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), as part of the BIDMC Institutional Strategic Plan for Innovation, Research, and Education (InSPIRE), to support efforts in building the central BioDataBank capabilities for investigators engaged in patient biospecimen- and data- based translational research at the BIDMC.
Application Due Date:
Aug 15, 2026, by 5 pm ET.
Eligibility:
- Principal Investigator (PI) must be a BIDMC/HMFP employee at the level of Instructor/Staff Scientist or above. The opportunity is open to all faculty ranks and early investigators are highly encouraged to apply.
- Projects involving human subjects, biospecimens, protected health information, or other regulated activities must obtain all required institutional approvals before funding can be released.
- Previous PIs and co-PIs of biobank Pilot grants are NOT eligible to receive funds in this award cycle.
Grant Specifics:
- Grants will be up to $20,000 per award.
- Salary support will NOT be provided.
- The funding cycle will be 1 year (Oct 2026 – Sept 2027).
- A no-cost extension (NCE) of maximum additional 3-months can be requested with a brief written justification and should be submitted before September 9, 2027 (3 weeks before the project end date).
