Benjamin E. Sibson, Ph.D.
Ben received his Ph.D. in Human Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University in 2024, investigating the effects of variation in physical activity on trunk muscle endurance, spine motion and loading, and lumbar spine function during gait. He is currently a T32 National Research Service Award Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Orthopedic Studies at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is part of the Harvard Translational Research in Aging Training Program funded by the National Institute on Aging.
Ben's research interests include musculoskeletal biomechanics, spine motion and loading, gait and posture, neuromuscular function, age-related changes to the musculoskeletal system, evolutionary biology and medicine, and translational research. His current project evaluates the effects of biofeedback-based trunk motion tracking training on trunk neuromuscular control and spinal motion and loading during gait in older adults.
