Cancellation Policy: The Core requires at least 24 hours’ notice for any run cancellations. Users who cancel with insufficient notice more than once will be charged the effort-based fee associated with the scheduled run type beginning with the second occurrence.
Policy on Late Arrivals: Run preparation begins one hour prior to the scheduled start time for single cell experiments. To avoid reagent and service charges, please notify us of any delays or cancellations at least two hours before your scheduled run. If you arrive more than one hour late, Core staff reserves the right to cancel the run and charge for the reserved time and any reagents prepared in advance.
Policy on Storage of Samples: The FunGen Core stores backup encapsulated cell samples for approximately one year from the run date. If you anticipate needing your backup emulsion, cDNA, libraries, or any associated biomaterials, please plan to retrieve it within a few weeks to a few months following your run. Exceptions can be made based on project needs, but must be arranged in advance with Core staff.
Policy on Bioinformatic Data Storage: coming soon!
FunGen User Agreement (for internal, external and industry users): You agree to return an e-signed copy of our user agreement, including providing billing details, before the start of your project at the core.
Acknowledgements: In order to monitor support services and satisfy institutional reporting requirements, FunGen requires users to acknowledge work performed by FunGen in peer-reviewed publications in either one of the following two ways:
- in the acknowledgement section by stating: “The authors would like to thank the FunGen Core (BIDMC RRID:SCR_024877, BNORC RRID:SCR_015423) , Boston, MA for performing the single cell RNA-Seq/XX sample preparation and XY analyses.”
- in the methods section for by stating “Single cell RNA-Seq/XX was performed by the FunGen Core (BIDMC RRID:SCR_024877, BNORC RRID:SCR_015423), Boston, MA.”
You are welcome to include additional relevant details about your experimental design and analyses. We are happy to assist in describing both wet-lab and bioinformatics methods as needed for this purpose.
- If you were especially thrilled with work performed by the FunGen or you would like to acknowledge the efforts of a specific member of the core, add a line in the acknowledgements section. “We thank __ from the FunGen Core at the BIDMC for __”
- If you are are BADERC or BNORC member, please let us know at project on-boarding
Authorship and Contribution Policy: If a Core staff member has made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, analysis, and/or interpretation of data, authorship or co-investigator status may be appropriate. We encourage open communication about contributions and welcome these conversations early in the project to ensure proper recognition and collaboration.
