Dr Gyongyi Szabo receives 2025 AASLD Distinguished Achievement Award

Congratulations to Dr Gyongyi Szabo for the prestigious Distinguished Achievement Award in 2025 from the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD)!
This honor recognizes Dr. Szabo’s pioneering contributions to the liver field, from uncovering the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome and IL-1ß pathway in alcohol-associated hepatitis to advancing our understanding of micro-RNAs and extracellular vesicles in liver disease. Her discoveries have paved the way for first-in-human clinical trials and opened entirely new therapeutic avenues.
