L. Nicolas Gonzalez Castro, MD, PhD
Dr. L. Nicolas Gonzalez Castro is a neurologist and neuro-oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He provides care for patients with primary brain tumors as well as other CNS disease. Our collaboration with Dr. Gonzalez Castro led to the discovery of key molecular switches driving the progression of IDH-mutant glioma (Nature Cancer, 2025). Building on this work, our ongoing collaboration aims to uncover the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of IDH inhibitors in treating IDH-mutant glioma. Dr. Gonzalez Castro also leads multi-center glioma clinical trials across major institutions in the United States, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
