David Melville
David joined the Machado Lab in March of 2023 after graduating from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience at the end of 2022. Previously, David completed his senior thesis in the Stevens Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital, and also spent a summer helping with immunology and structural biology research in the Bajic Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
During his time in lab, David assisted with projects involving thermoregulation and metabolism, working heavily with genetic tools such as optogenetics to study the neural circuitry underlying these homeostatic processes.
David is currently enrolled in the Masters of Public Health program at the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
