BIDMC Radiology Receives RSNA Awards at 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting

Last month, several members of the BIDMC Department of Radiology participated in the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)'s 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting.

The Annual Meeting was held at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, and virtually, for an immersive week of research, education, and the latest medical imaging technology. During the event, our department hosted its annual BIDMC Radiology alumni gathering and reconnected with imaging colleagues from near and far.

Congratulations to:

• Dr. Sepideh Abdi, one of our post-doctoral research fellows, whose Educational Exhibit with mentor Dr. Jim Wu won a 2023 RSNA Certificate of Merit and has been identified for RadioGraphics.
• Dr. Melissa Tannenbaum on receiving a 2023 RSNA Certificate of Merit for "Never Fear! Peer Learning in Emergency Pelvic & First Trimester Ultrasound." This work was part of the Emergency Radiology Education Exhibit at RSNA and has been identified for RadioGraphics as a full-length manuscript.
• Dr. Charissa Kim, whose work, "Missed Cancer Diagnosis Rate in CT-Guided Core Lung Biopsies with a Histopathologic Finding of Organizing Pneumonia," with mentor Dr. Olga Brook, was featured in an RSNA Daily Bulletin article. Dr. Kim is also the recipient of a 2023 RSNA Research Resident/Fellow Grant.
